Michael Saul Dell (born February 23, 1965) is an American billionaire businessman and investor. He is the founder, chairman, and CEO of Dell Technologies, one of the world's largest technology infrastructure companies. As of May 2026, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index and Forbes estimate he is the 7th wealthiest person in the world with a net worth of about US $212.8 billion.

Michael Dell was born in 1965 in Houston to a Jewish family. His father was an orthodontist and his mother a stockbroker. He attended Herod Elementary School and later Memorial High School, where he sold subscriptions to the Houston Post. To please his parents, he took up pre-med at the University of Texas in 1983, but he continued his business activities, earning $18,000 in one year from targeted newspaper subscriptions.
